Brown offers British naval help to prevent arms smuggling into Gaza

British Prime Minister Gordon Brown on Saturday said that British naval resources could be used to help prevent arms smuggling into Gaza as part of an arrangement to end the fighting. Speaking with reporters Saturday as the Israeli Cabinet was nearing a vote on whether to declare a unilateral cease-fire in Gaza, Brown said France and Germany were also offering similar help. Hamas said it would not accept the cease-fire because it would leave Israeli soldiers in their territory.
