"I am opposed to [Prime Minister Ehud] Olmert making a decision on a wide-scale operation in Gaza just like I am opposed to him making decisions on the Golan Heights issue," MK Effie Eitam (NRP/NU) said Monday night.
"Olmert is unfit, ethically and morally, and just as he is unfit to determine our borders, he is also unfit to determine the fate of IDF troops," continued Eitam.
The MK added that there mustn't be any suspicion of soldiers being sent to die in Gaza just to divert attention from the latest corruption scandal against the prime minister, or just to put Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in charge of the Strip.
