Several Israelis illegally entered the city of Nablus and ran over a Palestinian pedestrian on Thursday night, the IDF confirmed.

The injured Palestinian was rushed to a hospital, and while the IDF did not specify his condition, according to Arab media, he had fractures on both of his legs.

The civilians fled the scene on foot, with several of them being detained later by the IDF and taken to the police.

The military also captured the vehicle used and opened an investigation into the matter.

"We emphasize that entry of Israeli citizens into Area A is dangerous and prohibited by law," said the IDF statement.

Tensions rise in West Bank

This event is part of a larger series of clashes between Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank. On November 29, two Jews and seven Palestinians were wounded in clashes that involved stone-throwing near Bethlehem in the West Bank, Army Radio reported.

Earlier that month, on November 17, riots erupted near a West Bank Palestinian village in parallel with the military's demolition of an illegal Jewish outpost near Efrat.

The IDF launched a manhunt for dozens of extremists, explaining that “after the evacuation of illegal structures in the Wadi Kanub area…IDF, border police, and regular police forces rushed to the village of Jeba following a report that dozens of Israeli civilians had set fire to and vandalized homes and cars in the area.”
