Upon hearing the news that he had won the 20th slot on the Likud's Knesset list, Jewish Leadership activist Moshe Feiglin called for unity across the Right.
"I call on all parties on the Right to come and join the Likud," he said. "Together we will establish a broad-ranging party."
Speaking early Tuesday morning after the primary results were publicized, Feiglin denounced what he called "a flood of slander" against him, and said that he hoped for reconciliation with his nemesis, Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu. "My hand has already been extended to [him] for a year and a half; I hope he will shake it tonight," he said.
Feiglin was also successful in getting almost all of the people on his "recommended" list into realistic spots on the Likud list.
In the past two national elections, legal reasons were found to block the party activist - who was convicted of sedition for blocking streets during heated demonstrations against the Oslo Accords in the mid-1990s - from vying for a Knesset seat on a Likud ticket.
He later formed the Manhigut Yehudit (Jewish Leadership) movement inside the Likud, and has been gradually rising in power as he signed up more and more members to the party.
