Foreign Ministry announces ambassadorial appointments

The Foreign Ministry announced a number of ambassadorial and consul-general appointments on Monday, including the appointment of Aviv Shiron, the deputy director general for media and public affairs, as Israel's new ambassador to Austria. Among the other appointments is Avi Nir, who will become Israel's first consul-general in a newly opened consulate in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou. The other appointments are Tuvia Yisraeli, South Korea; Yitzhak Shoham, Thailand; Amira Arnon, Singapore; Yossi Amrani, Croatia; Tzvi Ravner, Warsaw; David Dadon, Chile; Ilan Baruch, roving ambassador in Africa; and Moshe Kimchi, consul general in Istanbul.
