General Staff, defense officials meet over Gaza violence in J'lem

IDF Chief of General Staff Lt. -Gen Gabi Ashkenazi, as well as other members of the army's general staff were meeting with defense officials in Jerusalem to discuss the escalation of violence in southern Israel and the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, Army Radio reported.
Meanwhile, Chanel 10 reported that public bomb shelters in Ashkelon are expected to be opened later in the evening. On Thursday the Home Front Command decided to open the Red Alert siren system to the city as well.
