Gov't, settlers reach compromise to avoid immediate Migron evacuation

The government and West Bank settlers say they've reached a compromise to avoid the immediate evacuation of the Migron outpost. Court documents submitted Monday by the government stated that Migron would be moved to a different site, but the government said it would take time to plan and build a new place for the settlers, and in the meantime they would remain in the outpost. The government was responding to a Supreme Court appeal submitted by the Palestinian owners of the land where Migron was built. Settler leaders said the decision was positive and averted a confrontation, but Peace Now slammed the compromise, saying both the government and the settlers were "buying time."
