Halutz rejects part of findings on kidnappings

Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Dan Halutz on Sunday evening rejected part of the conclusions reached by the Almog commission, which investigated the kidnapping of two soldiers into Lebanon that sparked the war this summer. In the meeting where the findings were presented, Halutz told the committee members to reinvestigate some parts of their inquiry, Army Radio reported. During the discussion, Halutz asked resigning Brig.-Gen. Gal Hirsch, the commander of Division 91, three times to retract his resignation. Hirsch agreed to stay in his position until a replacement could be found.
