Israel has approximately two hospital beds for every thousand citizens, a third less than 30 years ago, the Health Ministry announced on Thursday morning. A third of the beds are considered old and have been used by hospitals for 30 years, the ministry said. According to the report, the numbers of beds counted in the north and south of the country were particularly low. The most cramped hospitals noted were Sha'are Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem and Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv.
