IAF upgrades communications infrastructure

Cisco Systems Inc. recently won a several-million-dollar tender to upgrade the Israeli Air Force's communications infrastructure and establish an IP Telephony system with which the IAF can create a single network to transmit voice, video and data. According to Mike Mcginn from Cisco, the purpose of the new system is to enable more effective and faster communication transmission for the IAF. "Militaries have become lighter and are quick on the go," he said. "They want to be able to go somewhere quickly with voice, video and data package and this can allow that."
