IDF: Talk of war with Syria may escalate situation

IDF sources said Monday that talk of Syrian plans to start a war with Israel next summer could cause a dangerous escalation of the situation, Israel Radio reported.
The army has emphasized that there is no intelligence indicating that Syria has any such intentions, and said that although measures have been taken to raise the army's level of readiness, Military Intelligence does not anticipate a war next summer.
