Palestinian was apparently trying to plant bomb next to border fence.

A Givati Brigade force gunned down a Palestinian terrorist who appeared to be attempting to plant a bomb next to the Gaza border fence early Friday, the IDF said.

Before being killed, the terrorist managed to hurl a grenade at the troops, but there were no casualties among the soldiers.

The clash occurred near the Gaza belt community of Kfar Azza.

On Thursday night, a Kassam rocket fired by terrorists in Gaza hit an open area in the Eshkol region.

No one was wounded and no damage was reported.
