The leader of the Islamic Movement's northern branch, Sheikh Raed Salah, was indicted Monday afternoon at the Jerusalem Magistrates' Court for attacking police at the entrance to Jerusalem's Old City and for participating in last week's riots over the controversial Mughrabi Gate excavations.
Four other members of the movement were charged, as well.
Police have also requested that last week's court order banning Salah from the Old City be extended by 60 days.
