Landau says he will vote in favor of 2006 budget

Likud rebel MK Uzi Landau said Monday that he intended to support the 2006 budget proposal on its first reading in the Knesset. According to Landau, he would negotiate with the government on future votes only after the budget vote. Landau's statement followed threats from Likud rebels Monday morning that they would vote against the budget unless it dedicated larger sums to both the building of settlements in the West Bank and re-settlement of Gush Katif evacuees, Army Radio reported.
