Miliband: Gaza cease-fire must include end to arms smuggling

British Foreign Secretary David Miliband said Monday that a ceasefire to end the conflict in Gaza must include improvements in security and "above all a curb on the trafficking of illegal arms into Gaza."
"These armaments are the source of fear for hundreds of thousands of Israelis, some of whom I talked to in Sderot in November," he said in a statement in the House of Commons.
The foreign secretary also emphasized the severe humanitarian consequences of the IDF operation, including the civilian casualties, and reiterated the call for an immediate and durable ceasefire.
