Hizbullah chief Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah gave Israel a few surprising compliments on Saturday, pointing out the importance of the establishment of the Winograd Committee investigating the Second Lebanon War, Channel 10 reported.
"I find it hard to believe that such a committee would be established in any Arab country," Nasrallah said during an interview with Lebanese television.
Nasrallah also praised Israel's persistence in freeing its kidnapped soldiers.
The sheik criticized the army's tactics at the beginning of the war, saying that it should not have relied so much on the airforce. He said that Israel's loss during the war stemmed from its insistence to rely on the IAF. "There was an incorrect estimation that the airforce could achieve the war's goals with its immense power," said Nasrallah.
Nasrallah added that Israel planned intense usage of four of its "elite units - Givati, Golani, Nahal and the Paratroopers brigades," but did not achieve this.
Despite the Israeli defense echelon's expectations that Hizbullah has weakened after the war, "Hizbullah was now stronger than during the war," said Nasrallah.
