Olmert warns quiet in South can't be assured, says Hamas's, neighbors' moves cannot be anticipated.

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday morning said that the South must be kept free of the threat of rockets.
Speaking four days after the end of Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip, Olmert said "I hope the quiet will continue for a long time… [but] we live in a severely uncertain region, we have neighbors whose responses can't be anticipated."
He warned that the situation with Hamas continued to be volatile, saying "despite the quiet, it must be taken into account that things can roll differently."
The prime minister added that quiet in the Gaza periphery could not be assured.
He noted that the IDF did not want to use all of its power to show Hamas that "in this confrontation, at the end of the day, we all lose."
