Palestinian escapes during patient transfer from Gaza to Egypt

Security forces are currently in pursuit of a Palestinian who jumped off of a bus which was transporting 17 Palestinian patients from the Gaza Strip into Egypt for medical treatment.
The Palestinians boarded the bus at the Erez Crossing on the border with Israel and Gaza, and was making its way through Israeli territory when the man fled.
Humanitarian transfers of this kind are not uncommon since Israel imposed a full closure on border crossings into the Gaza Strip following Hamas's bloody takeover of the area last June. On Wednesday, Israeli and Palestinian heart surgeons teamed up at an Israeli hospital to operate on three young Palestinian girls from Gaza.
