A 15-month-old infant from Majd el-Kurum was hospitalized Saturday afternoon in Nahariya and remains in critical condition, having suffered substantial internal injuries.
According to the child's father, the infant fell from the second floor of the family's home. Police investigators, however, after their initial investigations now suspect that the child did not fall from a window but rather was run over by a truck near the family's house.
The suspected truck driver, a 30 year-old resident of the neighborhood, was arrested and transferred for questioning at the Karmiel police station.
