Police forces were increasing security Wednesday in preparation for Yom Kippur.

Police forces were increasing their security presence Wednesday in preparation for Yom Kippur. In preparation for the Day of Atonement, security guards were to be present in many synagogues and police were to increase security in the areas around synagogues, community centers, and religious study centers. Jerusalem police were also to maintain a large presence around the Western Wall and its surrounding area. Thousands were expected to reach the Western Wall during the Day of Atonement, Israel Radio reported.
