MK Avraham Poraz's new Secular Zionist Party was expected to announce its list of Knesset candidates at a press conference scheduled for Tuesday morning. Yosef "Tommy" Lapid, Poraz's partner in their former party, Shinui, was also scheduled to participate in the press conference. Lapid was expected to announce his resignation from politics, while supporting Poraz's new party, Israel Radio reported. His former party, Shinui, was to present its list later in the evening. The leader of the party had not yet been determined, but was expected to be one of either MK Ehud Rassabi, MK Ilan Leibovitch, or Ron Loewenthal.
