The Knesset Finance Committee on Wednesday was to begin discussions of a new initiative aimed at significantly reducing the benefits provided to former presidents and prime ministers.
According to the proposal, the retired statesmen will retain a state-sponsored apartment, office, car and driver for only several years, instead of their entire lives as they have had thus far.
