Russian President Vladimir Putin called on Friday for renewed peace negotiations between Israelis and Palestinians on the basis of the Road Map.
He emphasized that Russia was interested in a comprehensive and just peace in the Middle East, along with the establishment of a Palestinian state. He added that Russia was willing to continue helping a Palestinian government headed by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas.
