Rabbi Shmuel Shapira probed for alleged racism

Samaria Police investigated Rabbi Shmuel Shapira, yeshiva head from Yitzhar in the West Bank, on suspicion of publishing racist material. Shapira had put his name on several allegedly derogatory statements toward Arabs made in a newsletter distributed to synagogues some four years ago. Shapira was released following the investigation.
