The Health Ministry will receive test results on Wednesday of water samples taken from the Kinneret off Tiberias beaches since sewage overflowed there on Tuesday. The findings will determine whether bathing will be permitted again. Not only was swimming prohibited since the sewage incident, but the Tiberias Spa was told to boil all water used for drinking and cooking. Dr. Zeev Fish, the ministry's environmental health supervisor, said the city has a sewage treatment plant, but two years ago it broke down. "It was fixed then, but there are still overflows from time to time. There was a report that the police were investigating the possibility that the sewage was intentionally made to overflow, but I don't know if it is true," he said.
