Soldiers thwart potential stabbing at checkpoint

Soldiers from the Nahal brigade arrested a 25-year-old Palestinian Sunday at the Gush Etzion tunnel checkpoint that planned to stab soldiers.

Soldiers from the Nahal brigade arrested a 25-year-old Palestinian Sunday at the Gush Etzion tunnel checkpoint that planned to stab soldiers. Troops were alerted to the potential attack when they noticed the Palestinian's suspicious behavior and long coat and decided to inspect him. Inside his coat the troops found a 15-centimeter knife. The Palestinian was arrested and handed over to the Shin Bet for questioning. IDF commanders praised the troops alertness in the thwarting of the attack.
