An Israeli driver was lightly wounded near the West Bank settlement of Ofra on Thursday morning after Palestinians hurled rocks and shot at his vehicle. The Eli resident's car was hit by three bullets, and several cartridges were found in the vicinity.
Earlier, IDF forces apprehended and detained for interrogation two unarmed Palestinians who crossed into Israel via the Gaza Strip security fence.
Also on Thursday, it was released for publication that senior Hamas operative Muhammad Suliman Halika was one of twelve Hamas fugitives arrested by the IDF overnight in Bethlehem. IDF troops nabbed Halika, who was head of Hamas in the city, along with his deputy, Muhammud Musalam Halika.
In Jenin, meanwhile, soldiers arrested Islamic Jihad operative Masud Hadid, who was allegedly planning to perpetrate terror attacks in Israeli cities. One soldier was moderately wounded and a second lightly wounded during the operation when Palestinians detonated three explosive devices near their vehicle.
On Wednesday night, the IDF arrested a Palestinian who attacked a soldier at a checkpoint in Hebron's Avraham Avinu neighborhood.
After the Palestinian refused to be searched by troops who were manning the checkpoint, he reportedly became aggressive and attempted to steal the soldier's weapon. Neither the Palestinian nor the soldier was wounded in the struggle.
