Windsurfer lightly wounded after crashing on Tel Aviv boardwalk

Although Israel's traffic police may have long grown accustomed to steep increases in vehicle collisions during stormy conditions, even the experienced Tel Aviv police were caught by surprise Thursday when they were called to respond to a collision between a windsurf board - and a parked car. Police said that shortly after 5 p.m., they were called to Rehov Hayarkon 56, where a windsurfer had been carried by the blustery winds out of the sea altogether - and sailing straight in to a beachside parkinglot, where he slammed in to a parked car. The unfortunate windsurfer was taken in fortunately good condition to nearby Ichilov Hospital.
