Court will extend remand of Yehud couple who police suspect did not stop to help critically injured boy.

The Tel Aviv Transportation Court on Thursday is expected to extend the remand of a young couple from Yehud suspected of being behind a hit-and-run accident that left a 12-year-old boy in critical condition.
The 24-year-old woman, a Yahud resident, was arrested in Rishon Lezion on Wednesday afternoon, several hours after the accident, and admitted to driving away after hitting the boy with her car. She was arrested together with her 25-year-old boyfriend, who denied involvement in the accident.
The couple are suspected of disrupting a police investigation and of abandoning an injured person.
The accident occurred on Wednesday morning on Yehud's Nordau Street, when a Skoda vehicle hit a boy riding a motorized skateboard, injuring him seriously.
Passersby, who alerted a Magen David Adom ambulance, said the driver fled without stopping to help the injured boy.
During her interrogation, the woman broke down crying and told police she fled the scene of the accident because she was "stressed out."
The boy was evacuated in critical condition to Sheba Hospital at the Tel Hashomer Medical Center. He sustained injuries to his head and chest and is being treated in the intensive care unit.
