On the same day that Police Insp.-Gen. David Cohen pointed to a disturbing increase in cases of knife-related violence in 2007, a young man in his twenties was stabbed to death on a Petah Tikvah street on Sunday evening.
Emergency services were called to a corner store on Bar Kochba St. in the early evening, and discovered a young man lying in the crowded street, suffering from fatal stab wounds.
Police were still searching for a suspect in the stabbing Sunday night, but said that, according to eyewitness accounts, the deceased had been involved in a brawl with a second man, who stabbed him in the course of the fight.
