Thousands of Jerusalem youths, both religious and secular, have brought Purim food parcels to 4,000 elderly living alone around the capital.
The effort, organized by Yad Sarah, received donations from the Judaicawebstore.com site and Gili's Goodies (www.gilisgoodies.com) in Efrat, who will be happy to receive donations of money to send out more.
Yad Sarah will also send parcels to the elderly and needy in exchange for donations through its Web site at www.yadsarah.org.il.
The cards can be given to friends and relatives as Purim gifts instead of sweets.
