There’s a rather strange metropolis in Central Asia dubbed the “city of the dead.” It boasts five Guinness World Records that include the most white marble buildings in the world, the largest enclosed observation wheel, the largest fountain, the largest mural of a star and the largest image of a Turkmen carpet that adorns the main airport’s passenger terminal. The only problem is that there are very few people around. Even tourists stay away.
