Annual UJC General Assembly opens in Toronto

The annual General Assembly of the United Jewish Communities opened in Toronto on Sunday. Thousands of Jewish delegates were on hand for the event, which runs through Wednesday. Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and celebrity Ben Stein are slated to speak at Sunday night's opening plenary, during which the successes of the Jewish federation movement will be highlighted.
