Avi Balashnikov, former director general of the Knesset and the Ministry of Communications, has been named the new chairman of the College of Management Academic Studies as Ron Gutler steps down after a five-year term.
Gutler served as chairman of NICE for 11 years and, during his tenure, company sales grew to $1 billion. He also served as managing director and partner at Bankers Trust and founded the Blue Border Horizon Fund. Gutler currently serves as a director at Wix.com, CyberArk, and Psagot Investment House.
Balashnikov currently serves as the chairman of JCS as well as chairman of the Lauder Employment Center (LEC) in Beersheba. Like Gutler, he will fill his role in the college as a volunteer.
The College of Management Academic Studies is the largest non-subsidized college in Israel and was the first of its kind to receive certification and recognition from the Council for Higher Education.
