City Notes: Sukkot Fringe Theater Festival to take Acre

NORTH
The 38th annual Israeli International Fringe Theater Festival is arriving in Acre on Hol Hamoed Sukkot – the intermediate days of the holiday. The festival will take place in the city’s enchanting landscapes, creating a diverse backdrop of thousands of years of history, together with a modern and new landscape. This year, the festival will be featuring eight original Israeli productions, three renowned international performances, 30 street theater performances from Israel and abroad, a seminar and symposia.

Beatles for the whole family
Spend your Saturday with your family singing along and enjoying classic hits from The Beatles by the Magical Mystery Tour, Israel’s leading cover band. Covering all of the English rock band’s greatest hits, from “Yellow Submarine” to “With a Little Help from My Friends” and “Hey Jude,” the Magical Mystery Tour will present a show that will allow children, teenagers and adults to have fun and sing along.
The concert will be held on September 16 at Zappa Tel Aviv, 24 Raoul Wallenberg Street, Tel Aviv. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the performance starts at 1 p.m., lasting 70 minutes. Queen for a Day
 Earlier this month, the annual “Queen for a Day” event, organized by Seeach Sod – an organization that provides developmental, educational and vocational programming for 1,000 children and adults with disabilities – turned its focus on mothers of special- needs children in a day full of royal treatment earlier this month. In a private home in Ra’anana, gourmet food, beauty treatments, swimming and support sessions helped the busy mothers relax, recharge and receive the pampering they deserve.

Create connections at the Chabad community dinner
The Chabad House in Beersheba invites English-speaking olim to a Rosh Hashana community dinner on the first night of the Jewish New Year. What better way to start off the year than by enjoying a delicious dinner with friends and family as part of the southern Anglo community?
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 20, at Beit Chabad Merkazi, 2 Harabi MiLubavitch Street. Holiday prayer services will start at 6:20 p.m., followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m. The dinner is subsidized by Nefesh B’Nefesh Go South and costs NIS 30 for adults and NIS 15 for children, with family rates available on request.
