A suicide car bomber in eastern Afghanistan killed 20 civilians and a US soldier, a US military spokesman said on Thursday.
The bomber attacked the US convoy in Bati Kot district of Nangarhar province, Lt. Cmdr. Walter Matthews said.
Ajmal Pardes, an Aghan health official said that 74 other civilians were wounded in the attack.
The attack happened at a crowded market in Bati Kot.
