A bomb, likely a stun grenade, went off in a Christian neighborhood in the Lebanese capital late Tuesday, causing some damage but no injuries, security officials said. The bomb was thrown by an unidentified assailant riding a motorbike on a main road, a few meters from a school and a hospital in the Ain el-Rummaneh neighborhood, the officials said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media. The blast shattered windows on at least three parked cars and caused panic among the residents. The incident came as Lebanon is embroiled in its worse political crisis since the end of the 1975-90 civil war, with heightened tensions between pro-government and opposition groups.
