Bush extends Syrian economic sanctions for 1 year due to nuclear activity

US President George Bush is reported to have said that he will extend US sanctions against Syria due to its nuclear activities.
Bush said he will extend the sanctions, which include a freezing of Syrian assets and an embargo on several imported goods, by one year.
The president accused Syria of supporting terror, continuing its rule over Lebanon and attempting to acquire weapons of mass destruction.
