Egypt arrests more Muslim Brotherhood members following Gaza protests

Egyptian police have arrested 51 members of the opposition Muslim Brotherhood, including leading figures, in its ongoing crackdown on the outlawed movement, the group reported Wednesday. Police confirmed the arrests and said it was linked to the group's intensive activities ahead of local elections the government plans later this year. Some 21 members were arrested from the Mediterranean port city of Alexandria, including leading member Ali Abdel Fattah, 12 from Cairo's twin city of Giza and the rest from elsewhere in the Nile Delta, said Gamal Nassar, one of the organization's media representatives.
