Following the decision by Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas on Tuesday to give Hamas an extension of three days to accept a referendum on a "national reconciliation" document drafted by some Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails, Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called on both Hamas and Fatah to renew talks in an effort to reach a compromise on the initiative. Representatives of the two factions will meet in Gaza at the home of the Egyptian ambassador to the Palestinian Authority.
