El Salvador has announced that it will move its embassy from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv. The Central American state became the only remaining country with an embassy in Jerusalem after Costa Rica announced on August 16 that it planned to move its mission to Tel Aviv. El Salvador's foreign ministry said in a statement that the decision was made in consultation with Israel and in light of the present situation in the Middle East.
