PA premier asks Americans for timetable, appeals to int'l community to push Israel towards peace.

Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad has made a fresh appeal to the United States for a plan and a timetable aimed at resolving the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.
"I call anew on the United States to come up with a plan and a timetable for its application that will contribute to put an end to Jewish settlements and Israeli offensives, and lead to serious negotiations," Fayad was quoted by AFP as saying on Saturday.
In a speech at the Kalandiya refugee camp, he added that the international community must bear responsibility for pushing Israel to respect its peace commitments.
"Israel is turning its back on international legitimacy," he told hundreds of Palestinian refugees in the camp between the West Bank city of Ramallah and Jerusalem.
On Friday, Crown Prince of Bahrain Sheikh Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa, penned an opinion piece in The Washington Post calling on Arab countries to reach out to Israel.
In the article, entitled , he wrote, "we as Arabs have not done enough to communicate directly with the people of Israel."
The prince spoke of the need for better communication between the two countries and the potential for trade to spring from that foundation. He also referred to the Arab Peace Initiative and the need to move forward on it, saying, "Essentially, we have not done a good enough job of demonstrating to Israelis how our initiative can form part of a peace between equals in a troubled land holy to three great faiths."
