Ernst Uhrlau, head of the BND, Germany's foreign intelligence service, arrived in Beirut on Friday morning in an attempt to discuss a deal over securing the release of the two soldiers captured by Hizbullah, Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser. Nevertheless, Germany's foreign office said Uhrlau's arrival was not an indication of direct contacts between the two sides.
