Haniyeh in Damascus for talks with factions

Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh arrived in the Syrian capital Damascus Sunday to hold talks with officials and the leaders of Palestinian factions based in Syria. Haniyeh, on his first tour abroad since his Hamas-led government took office in March, was expected to discuss efforts to form a Palestinian national unity government and other Palestinian issues. He told reporters that there were various issues to be discussed such as "the plight and siege imposed on the Palestinian people and how to think seriously to break it."
