The head of the United Nations commission for investigating the assassination of former Lebanese prime minister Rafik Harir was scheduled to meet Syrian President Bashar Assad and Vice President Farouk al-Sharaa on Friday. The Lebanese newspaper al-Iwa reported that the Syrian leaders planned to claim that they had nothing to do with Hariri's death in 2005.
