Hizbullah accuses Saudi Arabia of siding with Lebanese government

The Lebanese militant group Hizbullah has criticized Saudi Arabia for siding with Lebanon's Western-backed government in its power struggle with the Syrian-backed opposition. The Shi'ite group, which leads the opposition, has rejected Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal's recent claim that it was to blame for the political deadlock that has left Lebanon without a president for more than four months. Lebanon has been without a president since pro-Syrian President Emile Lahoud ended his term last November without a successor elected. Hizbullah's comments Tuesday represented a rare criticism of oil-rich Saudi Arabia.
