Mashaal opposes formation of technocratic gov't

Damascus-based Hamas leader Khaled Mashaal has voiced his opposition to forming a technocratic government in place of the current PA government, Israel Radio reported Monday. In an interview with Al Jazeera, Mashaal said that the only solution was a unity government based on the Prisoners' Document. Former Palestinian foreign minister Nabil Shaath, however, has noted that Abbas has no partner for forming a unity government, and that efforts to set up such a government have stalled.
