US Middle East enjoy George Mitchell on Thursday said that the Gaza crossings must be opened in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority In a press conference Mitchell held with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah, Mitchell told reporters that in order to succeed in curbing illegal weapons smuggling, a system must be in place that will enable humanitarian aid from reaching the Strip, and it must be coordinated with the Palestinian Authority. Mitchell is on a regional tour to determine the next steps the Obama administration should take toward reviving peace negotiations following Israel's blistering military offensive against Hamas in Gaza.
