Mubarak: Egypt doesn't need nuclear authorization

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak said Sunday that his country did not need anyone's authorization to develop nuclear energy, Israel Radio reported. In a speech at a meeting of parliament in Cairo, Mubarak said that national security was Egypt's first priority, and emphasized that energy and water were basic ingredients for that security. Mubarak's government announced several months ago its intention to establish nuclear energy production facilities in the country.
