Nablus governor attacked in refugee camp, hustled out by police

Witnesses and security officers say the Palestinian governor of the Nablus region got a hot welcome when he visited the Balata refugee camp next to the city.
They said Palestinians opened fire on Jamal Muhaisen's car, wounding four people. Muhaisen ran into a house to take cover. Palestinian police whisked him out of the camp, but not before Balata residents set his car on fire.
After the incident Sunday, Palestinian security officers couldn't say who the attackers were. However, the Balata camp is known as a stronghold of Hamas, and the governor is from Fatah.
